How to navigate our graduate nurse application process

The journey from a student nurse to a registered nurse (RN) is both exciting and challenging. We’re committed to supporting new graduates as they transition into their professional careers. Applications are accepted at any time within your final year of nursing school.

This will help you align your personal and professional goals with the organization’s goals and stand out during your interview.

Check Your Eligibility Requirements

  • Description: Review unit and position-specific details to determine your interest.

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited RN nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Licensure: Active RN license or Graduate Nurse Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain one before starting the position.

Prepare Your Application Materials

  • Resume: Tailor your resume to emphasize your clinical rotations, any relevant internships and any leadership or volunteer experiences. Include any honors or awards you received during your nursing program.

  • Cover Letter (optional): Write a compelling cover letter that explains why you are interested in WellSpan and how your skills and experience make you a strong candidate. Be sure to mention specific units or departments you are interested in and any relevant skills you bring to the table.

  • References: Be prepared to provide contact information for at least three professional references, such as clinical instructors, preceptors or health care professionals you have worked with.

  • Search for RN Positions: Use the search function to find RN and Graduate Nurse positions.

  • Submit Your Application: Follow the instructions to submit your application, resume, cover letter (optional) and any other required documents.
