Your well-being is our priority

In the fast-paced health care environment, the well-being of care teams is more critical than ever. We’ve made a significant commitment to ensuring the well-being of all team members. This commitment isn’t just a nice thing to have. It’s a strategic need that helps us focus on providing high-quality, safe care and an excellent patient experience.

“The foundation of our well-being work rests on the principle that when people are well and thriving, the work we do every day is better and more fulfilling,” said Mike Diller, PsyD, Well-being program administrator.

We offer a range of programs, events and resources to support your mental, emotional, intellectual and social well-being. These initiatives are designed to foster a supportive environment and enhance the overall quality of care for our patients and their families.

What's our foundation to support 23,000 team members?

Our interventions and strategies are based on two key frameworks: First, we fully embrace the quadruple-aim model, which focuses on improving the health and well-being of our leaders, support staff and care teams. Second, we use the Stanford Model for Professional Fulfillment. This model emphasizes the importance of taking care of yourself, improving the culture of well-being and making work more efficient.

Q:Why are these well-being interventions important?

A:

By doing so, we can achieve all other health system goals, including population health with high-quality and safe care, a great patient and family experience, and delivering all of this at a great value. By focusing on well-being, we can support team members in their pursuit of meaningful work and professional fulfillment.

Drs. Salter and Diller are leading the well-being strategy for our system of 23,000 team members. Their vision is rooted in being a people-first organization, where we care for our people with the same passion we care for our patients and community.

Leadership and Organizational Culture

We integrate well-being into our strategic decisions and culture by ensuring that it’s a priority at all levels. Drs. Salter and Diller provide thought leadership and can ensure that the well-being of team members is considered in every major decision. They've also established a well-being council that guides leaders for a focused approach to the drivers of burnout and professional fulfillment for our nurses, physicians, APPs and leaders.

Here, the well-being of team members is a core component of our strategy. By providing comprehensive resources, fostering a supportive culture and ensuring that well-being is a priority at all levels, we’re setting a new standard in health care.
